Surrendered and Still Standing: A Journey of Trust, Peace, and Purpose

Lately, I’ve been living a life of surrender “Lord, I surrender” has become my daily declaration. So much has happened that I know could only be the hand of God. Once I truly let go and let Him lead, my entire life began to shift.

I’ve started trusting God more deeply. I’ve been going to therapy, and between that and my faith, I’ve found a much-needed balance. Some of the most unexpected things have been happening in my life lately. Things I can’t explain but I don’t question the path God is leading me on. I feel His peace, and I see His glory in motion.

The things I once struggled with, cried over, and worried about have all somehow worked out in my favor. It’s true what they say: “You don’t look like what you’ve been through.” My hardships didn’t break me or show on me. And the very doors I tried to force open that wouldn’t budge? Now I understand why. I’m thankful for every “no,” every delay, every detour because where I’m standing today feels like the beginning of something beautiful.

I’m not rich. My bills are still due, and my finances aren’t where I want them to be. I drive an old car. But I feel rich inside. I’m living a dream, owning a home in Detroit’s Eastside, loving my family deeply, pouring into the youth I’m blessed to support, and being surrounded by people who pour back into me.

Recently, my social media accounts were hacked and suspended, which has made it difficult to brand and promote my business. But strangely enough, I’m not stressed. Even without my usual online presence, my brand continues to grow. God is still moving.

I’ve learned to accept what I can’t change and focus on what I can. That shift in mindset has brought me peace beyond understanding.

So, to anyone who’s in the thick of it, keep pushing, keep trusting. Life may not be perfect, and problems will surely come, but I’m here to testify: God’s plan is always greater than anything we could ever imagine.

Lord, I thank You for the peace that surpasses all understanding. I thank You for this moment in my life where, even in imperfection, I feel whole. I feel blessed. I feel free.
